Medieval Christmas

  • Yaxley Library Peterborough, England, PE7 3JL United Kingdom (map)

Christmas trees, presents and dinners – we have the impression that most of our modern Christmas traditions were introduced by the Victorians. In fact, most of what we recognise today was common in the medieval period!

Find out how Christmas was celebrated 600 years ago, and what we would see as strange festive practices – and very familiar ones!

Speaker - Stuart Orme. Curator of The Cromwell Museum.

FREE  - donations welcome. Adults only.

Booking required. Please ask at Yaxley Library, or call: 0345 045 5225,
