Shining a spotlight on different voices and perspectives, Beyond the Bassline celebrates Black British music as a form of entertainment and a vehicle for community - and a source of liberation, protest and education. 

The exhibition is inspired by Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British Music at the British Library, in partnership with the Black Music Research Unit, University of Westminster. It is shared with Cambridgeshire Libraries through our membership of the British Library’s Living Knowledge Network.
