Celebrating 100 years of the 1925 thriller based on the novel by Gaston Leroux. Beneath the sewers of the Paris Opera House dwells a masked figure who dreams of turning chorus singer Christine into a diva. Lon Chaney’s ghastly make-up and outrageous performance made this a classic of silent film. Minima’s new original score enhances the film’s drama. Live instruments will include cello, double bass, guitars, synthesiser and drums.
‘One of the leading bands accompanying silent film in Europe.’ (Head of Cinema, Barbican Centre, London)
‘Minima’s unmistakably spine-tingling music clung to each twist of the movie.’ (The Guardian)
